Lose Weight & Gain Energy – 5 Simple Ways

Are you someone who is looking at losing weight and having more  energy? Well! Who does not want it? One of the most common health goals of all my clients, over the last 5 years has been to lose weight and have more energy.

Losing weight and having more energy is not rocket science. It’s more about doing the right things at the right time. Whatever is your present health condition, I will guarantee you that you will begin to notice a drastic change once you begin to incorporate “these 5 action steps” in your daily regimen.

Plan a 12 week cycle:

The minimum amount of time you need to give your body to change is somewhere from eight to twelve weeks. You need to be in the long haul for this and remember it’s a lifestyle change and No! there is no shortcuts.

Begin with a 20 minute slow cardio with some weight training. Yes! any one of you can follow this but with a help of a good trainer. Look at spending 40-50 minutes, 5 days a week in the gym.

After every 2-3 weeks, add another 5 – 10 minutes to the overall time spent in the gym. However, do ensure that you do not spend more than an hour at a stretch.

Keep a close eye on your calorie intake:

What & when you eat is the most important factor to be considered. Look at not crossing about 2000 calories (for men) and 1500 calories (for women). The calorie consumption should be balanced in the ratio 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat.

Always ensure that your protein consumption remains high, throughout the day.

Aim for 7-8 Hrs of sleep:

Are you aware that you burn the most calories when you sleep and not during the time you spend doing exercise?

Well, that’s a fact! Look at a regular sleep cycle and do not get into an irregular sleep pattern even during the weekend. Your metabolism will be humming in no time and this will help you kickstart your calorie burn meter.

Track Your Progress:

Weigh yourself and take measurement of all the body parts. Take photographs and use Body fat analysis if available, to get a fair idea as to where you are to begin with. There is nothing to be ashamed about, knowing how much you have ignored your own body all these years.

Tracking your own progress is one of the most encouraging activities one can do, which is certain to help you finish strong. I always do this regularly and never shy away from tracking my own progress in all of my activities.

Believe you can & Visualize:

Everything happens in the mind first and it is no different when it comes to losing weight and being energized. Create a powerful image of yourself being absolutely healthy and energized.

See it in color and feel the experience in your mind’s eye. Experience everything in detail couple of times a day.

Remember that your mind does not make out what is visualized and what is happening in real. It just processes the data.

This is a great way to trick the mind to do almost anything. Start small and in no time you will get better at this.
