When was the last time you worked on your Emotional strength? Well to be successful in any endeavour, it is imperative to be strong at the Emotional Level. This can make the difference between Success & failure.
Working & Interacting with interesting people, across the globe has given me an insight on what to focus on & prioritize. If you are emotionally strong, you can more or less work through any major shortcomings. Here’s how you can take it to the next level –
Embrace change & Welcome Challenges:
When I decided to become a full time “Professional Life coach” a couple of years ago, what energised me & continues to do so even today is the environment of change & uncertainty.
Over the years I have realised that, People tend to be at their best & perform at a different level when they are Emotionally strong. One area which I do focus on now, when I begin to work with a client is to work on the belief system.
Self belief, is extremely strong in people who are working on their Emotional Strength. Both of these do compliment each other, when it comes to raising the bar.
Do not dwell in the past:
More often than not People tend to live in the past. They spend far too much time either in self pity or fantasies of the “glory days” gone by. People who are emotionally strong, make it a point to invest a majority of their time & energy on the present & in creating a compelling future.
We do not drive looking at the rear view mirror all the time right. The same logic works with our past thoughts & Emotions. Moving away from the past is something which is worked at the Sub conscious level & I do spend considerable amount of time with my client’s in working on this area.
Willing to learn from mistakes:
Taking ownership of one’s actions & accepting full responsibility for the situation around him/her is what separates the wheat from the chaff. Self reflection gives a person the opportunity to change their approach & work at overcoming the challenge from a different perspective.
This is more often than not experienced when one is working with a “Life Coach” who will help you walk through the challenges. This habit in my opinion is a key trait, when it comes to working at Emotional Strength.
Apply Energy & time in measured doses:
Emotional Strength does come from not taking the shortest possible route, to the destination all the time. You need to relish the journey and experience the Milestones crossed over the years.
Working on small incremental goals, will ensure that you have the “staying power”. Remember genuine change, takes time and so does working on one’s Emotional strength. There is no magic pill to overcome years of negative Conditioning.
Emotional strength is something which each one of you can develop to drastically improve the quality of your life. I request each one of you to step out, of your comfort zone and work on this one aspect.
When you do begin to work on this one concept, I will guarantee you that other areas around it is bound to improve.
