Would you like to learn about how you can burn fat without any exercise at all? Does the above statement sound like a fake one?
If you’re like most people, your “I do not believe it!” radar would have gone up a few notches.
But I’m going to tell you something – it’s totally possible.
Here’s why…
I always advocate my clients to use the 80/20 principle in everything they do. It’s also called the Law of The Vital Few.
It states that for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes.
Even though this rule is not set in stone, you’ll find it practical and applicable in many of our day to day situations if you step back and give it a thought.
Similarly, for most things, you don’t need to be 100% perfect. If you can take care of the essential few things that has the greatest pay off, you are good to go.
So let’s get back to the subject of fat loss.
In fat loss, most people believe that the key to fat burning lies in consuming fewer calories than they burn.
While this method is true and certainly helps people burn fat, it takes a long time to pull off.
And that’s where the 80/20 rule comes in handy.
Your diet is the SINGLE most important factor that determines how fast you burn fat. Your exercise is secondary.
When you eat the right foods, you no longer have to worry about portion control. You’ll naturally feel full and eat less.
The SINGLE most important change you can make in your diet is to reduce your carb intake and increase your protein intake.
Here’s what a good solid protein-rich diet can do (i.e. depending on the foods you eat)…
- Increase satiety and help you eat less
- Turbocharge your metabolism
- Help your muscles repair and recover faster
- Provide you with the essential amino acids your body needs to function optimally
Even if you are a vegetarian, it doesn’t matter. There’s a way out. You can still follow a protein-rich diet and lose a lot of fat incredibly fast.
Here’s how you can do that…
Quinoa:
Quinoa is a complete protein with all the essential amino acids – which makes it the most important food a vegetarian can eat.
The problem with quinoa is that it isn’t available everywhere. You may have to visit a few big departmental stores before you find it.
Black Beans:
These little buggers are loaded with lots of protein. They may not be a “complete” protein. But they still provide the entire essential amino acids one needs.
You approximately consume 7 grams of protein and fiber for every ½ cup of black beans. This makes it the ideal food for you to eat.
Lentils:
There’s literally NO other vegetarian food that has so much protein as lentils. It offers nearly 9 grams of protein for ½ cup. Plus, it fills your stomach faster than rice or any other foods.
It’s also incredibly easy to cook. All you have to add is a bit of salt to taste.
Soy & Tofu:
One cup of Soy Milk offers up to 8 grams of protein per cup. One glass of Soy Milk provides all the essential amino acids that our body needs. It’s an effective option for anyone who is lactose intolerant.
Whole Eggs:
If you’re like most vegetarians who include eggs in their diet, good for you. For the price, quality and convenience, there’s hardly a better source of complete protein.
Make sure that you’re eating whole eggs. The white part does have some protein but the yellow is protein-dense.
What now?
So now you’ve learned about the different protein rich foods that you can eat. All you have to do is start replacing your carb rich meals with these high protein foods.
Here’s an example…
Breakfast: Instead of Carb loaded meal, start eating omelettes or hard boiled eggs with a bowl of Oats.
Lunch: Replace or reduce your rice and roti intake with a bowl of beans, lentils and salad
Dinner: Quinoa salad and a glass of soy milk
