Why Antioxidants is the Key

Are you aware that the stress we put on ourselves on a daily basis creates so many free radicals, that we eventually become unstable @ the cellular level.

This means that in the process of not handling our stress, we are damaging our body at the cellular level, which in the long run can be catastrophic for our Physical & Emotional Wellbeing. This is one of the main reasons I stress upon, when I work with people to  increase the antioxidant intake.

It helps  to know that “the free radicals” can steal their missing electrons from the antioxidants, rather than from your body. Keep the following pointers in mind whilst increasing your antioxidant intake –

Good source of Antioxidants:

I believe in a natural intake of antioxidants. The best way is through food intake, which includes fruits, vegetables, seeds, nuts & vegetable oil. Over the years I have realised that the best way to create the right balance is through our food intake rather than through expensive supplements, which we still do not fully understand.

There are more than enough options to increase your intake naturally. On a personal note, I have nearly achieved my target of going natural, with respect to the intake of antioxidants.

Exercise is an All rounder:

One key aspect of regular exercise is that by working out regularly, we tend to increase the uptake of oxygen by 10 to 20 times. What does this mean? Well it is a “No brainer” for sure. Regular exercise not only strengthens your immune system, bones & muscles but also play a key role in strengthening your antioxidants defence system.

There’s no doubt about it -Exercise is good for you! It’s good for the whole of your body and for your Emotional Well being .

As with everything, begin small. Work out a list of activities which you can do for 2-3 times a week. These activities should raise your breathing & heart rate for about 20-30 minutes. Make sure what you do is enjoyable. It should eventually make you pleasant and not miserable.I do come across many a people, who hit the exercise habit hard and falter in no time.

It is all about the Oxygen:

With research proving that good intake of oxygen plays a critical role in one’s cognitive function, it is imperative that you spend at the least a couple of minutes a day doing deep breathing exercises, by focusing on your breath. The whole concept of Yoga is based on breathing. Check my Blog on Yoga for this.

With increase of oxygen and an increase in Antioxidants I am more than certain it will hasten your cognitive development, which plays a critical role in your Emotional Wellbeing. Now you might have got a whiff, as to how all this is interrelated.

What I have touched upon in the last few paragraphs is extremely practical & doable. It does not require any drastic lifestyle changes but most importantly  an inclination to change.
